POSITION: Assistant Controller

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Overall Leadership

? Mentor and train accounting staff to ensure high performance standards in financial and accounting activities.

? Present financial information to staff and management in a clear and concise manner.

? Support the Controller/Treasurer in overseeing and managing the Accounting Department. Accounting & Fiscal Management

? Perform reconciliations of complex accounts, including investment funds and sick/vacation accrual balances.

? Oversee and prepare general ledger expense allocations, account reconciliations, and journal entries, ensuring compliance with internal controls.

? Review contributions, restricted funds, and account reconciliations for accuracy.

? Research, analyze, and respond to internal and external financial inquiries.

? Perform treasury services including wire transfers and cash management.

? Assist the Controller with annual audits, insurance renewals, and compliance reviews.

? Assist with preparation of annual federal and state tax reporting requirements.

? Review and assist with preparation of annual operating and capital budgets; monitor and report on budget-to-actual variances.

? Assist with preparation of timely and accurate financial statements.

? Manage and oversee the Corporate Credit Card Program.

? Serve as liaison with investment advisors, custodians, and banking partners. Technology & Process Improvement

? Support the Controller/Treasurer on technology-related projects, particularly related to MAS 100 and Salesforce (Fireforce).

? Provide staff training, develop financial reports, and collaborate with programmers to improve reporting systems.

? Identify and implement process improvements to increase automation, efficiency, and scalability.

? Assist in the development of new reporting processes and systems. Other Responsibilities

? Perform other duties as assigned to support the Accounting Department and overall organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or Master's preferred).

? Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

? Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting practices.

? Experience with MAS 100, Salesforce (Fireforce), or similar accounting/ERP systems preferred.

? Demonstrated ability to produce accurate financial reports, initiate projects, and develop solutions.

? Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

? Proven ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive, confidential information responsibly.

? Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
